⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Fraudulent Quotation Request from zikhona.sodika@dsd-govsupplychain.online
🚨 This is a fake RFQ scam impersonating the Department of Social Development (DSD).
🛑 Why This Is a SCAM:
| Fake domain (@dsd-govsupplychain.online) | Official government emails end in .gov.za, not .online. |
| Open RFQ not requiring scope/expertise | No legitimate government RFQ allows anyone to quote outside their scope — this is a bait tactic. |
| System delay excuse | Common scam script used to justify odd timing and create urgency. |
| Vague product references | No real product list is provided upfront, forcing you to open the attachment — a classic scam step. |
| Similar phrasing to known scam messages | This email follows a known scam pattern used in fake tenders involving DSD, DCS, SITA, etc. |
| “You can outsource” language | This opens the door for you to be directed to a fake supplier, who will disappear with your money. |
🧠 How This SCAM Works:
You receive a fake RFQ like this one.
You’re told it's okay to outsource.
You're referred to a fraudulent “preferred supplier.”
You pay for the goods (deposit or full).
The supplier disappears — and you never hear back.
✅ What You Should Do:
Do not respond or send a quotation.
Do not open attachments or contact any supplier they recommend.
Report this to:
Block the sender and mark as phishing in your email platform.
🔍 How to Verify Any Tender:
Always check the RFQ or bid number on official websites:
If the RFQ is not listed there, it’s not real.
If you have the attachment and want me to analyze it for specific scam signs (like fake logos, recycled wording, or forged contacts), feel free to upload it.
Stay vigilant — these scams are becoming more sophisticated.
